Ann and James Farr were married in Greenwood, Mississippi. They moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1964 where they adopted three children. Not long after adapting the third child, they believed the city’s unbridled racism, drugs and violence was too much to raise a family. They moved to St. Anne Woods, Illinois where they worked a small farm.

Accordingly, Ann and James Farr supported wholistic education for their children and relatives. They provided personal attention teaching farming, carpentry, meat packaging, and a host of other skills to pre-teens.

The Ann and James Farr scholarship supports families who want to get their children to the next level in their academic careers. Families seeking assistance with private tutors, or K – 12 tuitions may apply for the award. Recipients and parents interview via Zoom or telephone.

Due to limited funds, IPGC is currently covering payments for testing. This is a crucial function allowing parents to analyze their students needs. Once the sudent’s needs are assessed we will work with our partners to provide affordable options for the parents. As our funding increase, more payment support options will become available.
